Additional requirements for: design and installation of car and landing doors Soft and hard Pendulum tests for body strength constrained opening of doors from inside the car Safety spaces and clearances Number of operators depending on refuge spaces In pit, number & dimension of safety volumes, with addition of interconnected inspection control station access ladder and unlocking of bottom landing door In headroom, dimension of safety volumes on car roof Vertical clear height depending on size of standing area Higher balustrade depending on distance from side wall

Additional requirements for: electrical equipment Electrical emergency rescue Availability of necessary special equipment on site and relevant detailed instructions Availability of emergency power supply on site, if needed Mandatory inclusion of inspection travelling up to 2,0 m from ceiling: restore run at 0,3 m/s by further pressure to reach minimum safety volumes position Faultfinding for safety circuits with car & landing door’s bypassed safeties Reset of the lift from outside the lift well after operating the inspection station Reference to external standards, often IEC

Requirements by amended Lift Directive 2014/33/UE Traceability of safety components All the players are involved Installer shall retain the information received by the manufacturer Manufacturer shall keep all the information and provide it when required Inclusion of “unintended car movement prevention” Need to certify the whole set even if composed by individually certified components Need to obtain updated certificates Often new tests seem to be required by NB-L Extra burden Extra costs
