1 Cloudy With a Chance Of Ice Cubes
Karlie Alexander 6th Period 12/11/13

2 Question If I change the amount of ice cubes, will it change the size of the cloud?

3 Background The reason I picked this project is because in the summer I would drink water and the ice cubes would have little like clouds in the middle. I would like to see how this forms and why. Also, does it matter about the amount?

4 Variables Independent: The amount of ice cubes.
Dependent: Which cloud is biggest. Constants: The amount of water, and heat, and the same cup.

5 Hypothesis If I use three ice cubes then I think it would be a bigger cloud then, if i used 1 or 2 ice cubes.

6 Materials Three cups Ice cubes-6 Heat Mits Graph Eyes

7 Procedures Gather Materials Pour water to about ⅔ in a cup.
Put by heat, oven Put 1 ice cube in one cup, two in another one, three in the last one Let it sit for 2 hours Watch over the days Record after done, Mits to pick it up

8 Data 3 4.5cm 2 3cm 1 1.5cm Amount of Ice Cubes
How long the cloud inside is 3 4.5cm 2 3cm 1 1.5cm

10 Conclusion My question was if i used more ice cubes would the cloud inside it be bigger. At first I got all my materials ready, then put the ice cubes inside the cups, I let it sit there for 2 hours. I keep watching it after 5 mins. It started to form a white puffy cloud in the center. My hypothesis was correct because, I guessed the bigger the amount of ice cubes the bigger the cloud gets.
