3. What is Learning?
Learning as a quantitative increase in knowledge: Learning is acquiring information or ‘knowing a lot’.
Learning as memorising: Learning is storing information that can be reproduced.
Learning as acquiring: learning is acquiring facts, skills and methods that can be retained and used as necessary.
Learning as making sense or abstracting meaning: Learning involves relating parts of the subject matter to each other and to the real world.
Learning as interpreting and understanding reality in a different way: Learning involves comprehending the world by reinterpreting knowledge.

4. What is Learning?
According to Pritchard (2009), learning can be summarised as: 
A change in behaviour as a result of experience or practice
The acquisition of knowledge
Knowledge gained through study
To gain knowledge of, or skill in, something through study, teaching, instruction or experience
The process of gaining knowledge
A process by which behaviour is changed, shaped or controlled
An individual process of constructing understanding based on experience from a wide range of sources.

5. Kolb's Learning Cycle
Kolb's Learning Cycle is a well-known theory which argues we learn from our experiences of life, even on an everyday basis. It also treats reflection as an integral part of such learning.

“The e5 Instructional Model (e5) was launched in Developed and tested over 18 months, it is a reference point for school leaders and teachers to develop a deeper understanding of what constitutes high quality teacher practice in the classroom. ” (DEECD )
E5 aims to provide in plain English a guide to what high quality practice looks like and how to work with students every day in the classroom. e5 supports teachers to increase their understanding and build their knowledge base in leading practice.
E5 stands for the five phases built around five active verbs: engage, explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate.
