1 Marion cried and cried…and then cried some more.
For example: Marion cried and cried…and then cried some more.

2 LearnZillion Notes: --This is our lesson objective. Keep it as short and student-friendly as possible. Put what they will learn in green and then how they’ll learn it in blue. For example, “In this lesson you will learn how to use the progressive tense by using time lines.”

3 LearnZillion Notes: --Some lessons may build off of previous lessons. In those cases, it may be helpful to include one or more review slides. Use these slides to remind students of previous concepts you’ve taught in other lessons. --Feel free to move or resize the blue text box to fit your content. --Remember that you can add multiple “Let’s Review” slides if you need them or you can just delete this slide!

4 The ellipsis looks like this …
You may hear people say: “dot, dot, dot.” LearnZillion Notes: --Some lessons may build off of previous lessons. In those cases, it may be helpful to include one or more review slides. 7 LearnZillion Notes: --Many grammar lessons have a multi-step process. If your lesson could benefit from a multi-step process slide, add this slide to the beginning of the Core Lesson, the end of the Core Lesson or both! With these steps clearly outlined, you can model your thought process and help students practice the skill.

8 LearnZillion Notes: --Start with the 1st step here.

9 LearnZillion Notes: --Write the 2nd step here.

10 LearnZillion Notes: --Write the third step here.

12 LearnZillion Notes: --Start with the 1st step here.

13 LearnZillion Notes: --Write the 2nd step here.

14 LearnZillion Notes: --Write the third step here.

15 LearnZillion Notes: --Use this slide (and copy it if you need to) to finish your Core Lesson content if necessary.

16 LearnZillion Notes: --This is the lesson conclusion. On this slide you’ll change your original lesson objective to past tense and explain what the student has just learned. You can retype it here or you can delete the text on this slide and then just copy and paste the text box from the original Lesson Objective slide and then edit it to make it past tense!

17 1. “Have you ever wondered” Margaret began. “Oh, never mind.”
2. We waited and waited and waited for what seemed like forever. 3. “Let me see where did I put that library book?” Mark asked as he looked under his bed. LearnZillion Notes: --The “Guided Practice” section should include an example or multiple examples that target the skill that was used in the Core Lesson. Use the same vocabulary and process you used in the original lesson to solve this problem. Add as many Guided Practice slides as necessary!

18 1. A full year later she finally came to a decision.
2. “Hey, have you seen my? Never mind I found it.” 3. “Jason, uhm this is hard to say, but I can’t go on Saturday.” LearnZillion Notes: --The “Guided Practice” section should include an example or multiple examples that target the skill that was used in the Core Lesson. Use the same vocabulary and process you used in the original lesson to solve this problem. Add as many Guided Practice slides as necessary!

19 Get into groups of three or four.
As a group come up with a scene in which at least one character stops his dialogue and another one takes pauses. Write the dialogue as a team and pay close attention to your use of ellipses. Make sure every group member has at least one line of dialogue. Practice your lines, so you can present your scene before you turn the script into your teacher. and Describe one extension activity here… LearnZillion Notes: --On the Extension Activities slide(s) you should describe 2-3 activities written with students as the audience (not teachers). Each extension activity should push the students a bit further with the lesson but in a different application or context. Each activity should be designed to take roughly minutes. Teachers will likely display the slide in class and then assign an activity to a student or group for additional practice and differentiation. Ideally, these Extension Activities will be created such that a teacher can differentiate instruction by giving more difficult extension activities to students who have shown mastery of the lesson, and less difficult activities to students who are not yet proficient. --If you need more than one slide to list your extension activities, feel free to copy and paste this slide!

20 If you can’t think of a real situation, you can be creative.
Think about a time when you thought a experience was going on and on… and on. Maybe you were waiting for something, practicing for something or going through a hard time. Describe the experience in a paragraph, including a sentence with an ellipsis to show the passage of time. If you can’t think of a real situation, you can be creative. 21 “Let me think about it uhm no.”
Angela tried and tried and tried all day, but she could not do the back hand spring. “Let me think about it uhm no.” “You’ll never guess.”Jacob stopped. “Oh, I guess you already know.” LearnZillion Notes: --”Quick Quiz” is an easy way to check for student understanding at the end of a lesson. On this slide, you’ll develop an quick way to assess student understanding of the new material. That’s it! You won’t be recording a video of this slide and when teachers download the slides, they’ll direct their students through the example on their own so you don’t need to show an answer to the question.
