2. Current Joe Serna, Jr. Charter School Facility
Concerns about kindergarten spaces
Lack of yard/playground space
Requires over 3.5 million dollars in upgrades
Could be an asset to attain funds to support Facility Master Plan projects or attain property for future school

3. Idea for Discussion
Relocate the Joe Serna, Jr. program to N. Extension Road in Lodi (current Henderson/Independence/Katnich site).
Move Independence from front of the complex to the Katnich area.
Relocate Mental Health Offices
Revisit the Henderson program
54 students, over $600,000 per year
Students do not have access to variety of middle school opportunities
Options
Discontinue program
Phase out by not accepting new 7th grade class and move 8th grade class to different site next year (29 students)

Transportation for current Serna neighborhood students
Possible Extension Road campus modifications
Location for 8th grade Henderson if phase out option is selected
Support structures at middle schools for 8th graders if Henderson is discontinued
Process to sell/trade current Serna site
Research effective alternative program models for 7-12 grade students for future implementation in lieu of current Henderson model
