OBJECTIVE Students will analyze refugee issues in various global regions by researching policies and data in order to draw conclusions to the extent to which current policies are viable.

What are the factors that produced or are producing refugee populations in the world? What are the challenges that refugee destination nations or agencies face?

MINDJOG GET OUT YOUR CURRENT EVENTS ARTICLES INVOLVING REFUGEE ISSUES IN YOUR REGION. DISCUSS YOUR ARTICLES WITHIN YOUR GROUP

Large scale migration of talented people from LDC to MDC due to the educational and/or economic opportunities

Internal Refugees : displaced person Victims of Katrina Alabama Tornado East Coast Flooding International Refugees Refugees who have crossed one or more international borders during their move, encamping in a different country

3. Refugees move without official documents that accompany channeled migration International refugees almost without exception migrate without authorization and often carry few or no identifying papers

REFUGEE POSTER PROJECT
Summarize the refugee problem for your region using appropriate vocabulary A description of the most pressing refugee problems of the region (causes and issues within the country) Current United Nation activities to deal with refugee issues Also include current non-UN activity in the area A description of the most pressing problems caused by the refugees on their destination locations, including the reactions of those locations Three suggestions for improvement to the current situation (What issues are currently not being addressed?)
