Regional Assessment Services (RAS) are a national assessment workforce that began operating around Australia and in all NSW regions from 1 July 2015. RAS teams visit older people at home to conduct face-to-face assessments for older people who would prefer to stay independent in their own homes, and would like some help to do so. On a home visit, the RAS assessor will talk to you about the things you feel you need a bit of extra help with. They will let you know some of the support services available under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), like domestic tasks or basic home maintenance. The plan you make with the assessor will give you choice and flexibility in working towards your goals and achieving wellness.
