Figure 1 Dendogram Analysis of IL-17 Family Members
Protein sequences of IL-17 family members were aligned and phylogenetically characterized by using the Clustal W method in Megalign (DNASTAR). Immunity , DOI: ( /j.immuni )

Figure 2 Hypothesized IL-17 Signaling in Airway Inflammation
Mucosal T-lymphocytes can produce IL-17A/F in response to proximal triggers such as IL-23 from macrophages or dendritic cells or IL-15, and IL-17A/F can signal via receptors expressed on epithelial cells, fibroblast, and endothelial cells. IL-17A/F subsequently induces chemokines (CXCL8, CXCL6, CXCL1), growth factors (G-CSF, GM-CSF, IL-6), and adhesion molecules (ICAM-1), leading to augmented neutrophil accumulation as well as to granulopoeisis. IL-12p70 can inhibit IL-17 A/F elaboration by T cells. Immunity , DOI: ( /j.immuni )
