2. Scope of CIS SSG CC&Water
2009: development of guidance on incorporating CC in water legislation and policy in following RBM cycles
Based on agreed policy paper WD 2008
Practical guidance for river basin managers
Focus on coming RBM cycles (not 2100)
Providing first tools, but work needed after 2009
Both water quality and quantity, both extreme events and gradual climate changes

3. Current state of guidance
SSG Climate Change & Water meeting on 29 April
First drafts provided by UK/FR (CH4), EEA (CH5), ES (CH7) and first ideas on Floods presented
Current overlaps and gaps between chapters will be adjusted, and meeting comments included
Coordination meeting 26 June
Further coordination with other CIS groups in September (Ecostat, WG Floods, WS&D EN)

4. Focus on floods
only the climate change related aspects of the implementation of the Floods Directive
Only for some issues clear guidance can be given now, others need follow-up
