Month 2000 doc.: IEEE /xxx July 2001 Why Reconsidered Arguments in favor of MDSU lifetime handicapped by absence of editor (Flight delayed) Many arguments presented which supported MSDU lifetime as MIB variable Existing text implemented MSDU lifetime as MIB value Presentation of centralized control of MSDU lifetime via AP may have confused audience Mislead audience to consider MSDU lifetime as centralized AP parameter rather than MIB value If it had been clear that audience was voting on MSDU lifetime MIB value may have had different result Matthew Sherman, AT&T Labs - Research John Doe, His Company

Text from 802.11e/D1 Section 9.2.5.3, 3rd paragraph
Month 2000 doc.: IEEE /xxx July 2001 Text from e/D1 Section , 3rd paragraph ESTAs shall maintain a transmit MSDU timer for each MSDU passed to the MAC.The MIB value aMSDULifetime [i ]specifies the maximum amount of time allowed to transmit an MSDU of traffic category i. If an ESTA implements these optional MIB parameters,an MSDU timer shall be started when the MSDU is passed to the MAC.If a timer exceeds its associated aMSDULifetime [i ]then all remaining fragments of that MSDU shall be discarded by the source STA and no attempt is made to complete transmission of that MSDU.
