Introduction
Effective NDT training has proven to play a major role in the qualification of personnel. Formal training with intensive hands-on experience is an essential element to reach this goal. NDT Training Center at Jubail Industrial College has the state of the art Laboratory facilities and experienced well qualified trainers with professional certifications. Training modules are conducted according to the Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A of the American Society for Non-destructive Testing using the custom built programs and the ASNT approved training books. The centre currently conducts conventional NDT training in PT, MT, VT, UT, RT, ET, as well as the Advanced NDT training in PAUT and TOFD. The centre also regularly conducts AWS-CWI Seminars and Examinations which are well attended. The heavy industries like SABIC, SAUDI ARAMCO, Ma’aden, Aircraft, Power Generation, Water Desalination, Metal Fabrication, and many others, rely on NDT techniques to maintain the integrity of their engineering systems.

Our trainers are well qualified and certified in all major NDT disciplines. The international certification of our NDT people includes EN ISO 9712 Level III, ASNT NDT Level II, ASNT NDT Level III, AWS-CWI and NACE CIP-I, with a cumulative industrial experience over 45 years.

Customized NDT
The NDT centre offers customized programs at various levels of certifications using the well equipped facilities in the six conventional methods namely UT, RT, MT, PT, ET and VT. The training is aided by more than 300 flawed test specimens of plates, pipes, and T-joints for welding and forging. The training on Electromagnetic Testing and IRIS (ET, MFL, RFT & UT) for Tube Inspection using MS-5800 has also been well received by the industries. The NDT Centre has also been granted authorization by the AWS, the American Welding Society to conduct AWS/CWI seminars and examinations since the beginning of The seminar serves as a sound refresher to welding inspection, particularly for practicing welding inspectors and anyone aspiring to be an AWS-Certified Welding Inspector. AWS-CWI Seminar is specifically addressed to welding inspectors of varied levels of background, and provides understanding of the critical job related to welding issues. Companies have heavily relied on the AWS certification in ensuring the highest level of quality workmanship. AWS-CWI provides the various duties and responsibilities of the welding inspectors before, during and after the welding.

NEW PROGRAM
JIC is going to launch a new major; Associate of Science Degree Program in Non Destructive Testing and Evaluation Engineering Technology, in the forthcoming semester 341 (Sep., 2013).
It was prepared in response to the job market demands led by Saudi ARAMCO.
The program is aligned with the classroom training requirements of ASNT - American Society for Non Destructive Testing.
Graduates of the program will be able to enter a career rich with institutional certifications.
The 72 credit-hour program is fully compliant with ABET- Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology for its structure (curricula contents and composition), educational objectives and the students outcomes, that will facilitate program accreditation by ABET when it is sought.
The allocation of the program credit hours is; 66.7% of it owes to technical courses, while 33.3% to non-technical courses.

The industry feedback was received during the design of the program. Saudi ARAMCO positively vetted the contents and more than 90% of the industry respondents in a recently conducted survey favored an NDTEET major in the college.
The program was benchmarked with similarly named programs inside and outside of the kingdom with satisfactory results; the contents were relevant and appropriate to the program educational objectives.

MT (10-Portable Electromagnetic Yokes, 4-Permanent Magnets, 2-Magnetizing Coils & 1- Prod Unit), PT, & VT: Equipment & Tools to conduct training for (10) trainees and more at the same time.
More than (300) Flawed Specimens -Sonaspection & others- (Welded Joints & Forging).
