Mission Statement Section II, “Purpose”
1. The Florida Utilities Coordinating Committee was formed to: improve the efficiency of operation, maintenance, and construction of utility and roadway infrastructure through communication, discussion of issues, educational opportunities, and facilitating cooperative relationships. Purpose & Intent Section II, “Purpose”
2. The purpose of the FUCC shall be to promote: Effective and equitable coexistence of utilities Create a successful working relationship among and between utilities, and other entities, through coordination, cooperation and communication. 2. It is the intent of the FUCC to achieve this through: Frank and impartial consideration of all matters to participate, in the preparation of practices, policies, procedures and rules originating with governmental organizations that may affect utility work. Membership Section III “Membership” Member:
The membership of this Committee shall consist of: public, private, governmentally owned utility systems. pipeline, telecommunication, cable television transmission or distribution as a utility product or service. 2. Associate Members: Non-utility organizations such as: governmental agencies, consulting engineers, railroads, contractors, one-call systems, etc., FUCC Bylaw 2/16/00

Early Years 1930’s - 1976 Thursday Friday Steering Committee FUCC
Used to discuss issues prior to meeting with the FDOT Determine course of action to work on problems. Identify new problems and concerns. FUCC Business Meeting Morning FUCC Business Meeting Generally ran from 8:00 – 12:30 All issues (new and old) were discussed openly. Committee reports and open discussion on remaining issues were discussed. New problems were discussed and subcommittee formed to work on the problems Steering Committee Afternoon

Reason for Change Utility industry were starting to experience problems and concerns as like utilities. No means of meeting together to resolve the problems.

FUCC Business Meeting Morning Utility Interest Groups Combined Interest Group Combined Interest Group This session was used to discuss the issues and problem areas generated from the individual groups Presentation and panel discussions were used to relay the information. Utility Interest Groups
The purpose of the Interest Groups is to provide a forum for like utilities to: discuss issues, problems and concerns. develop solutions or present other recommendations to the Steering Subcommittee. Responsible for discussing, resolving and making recommendations to the Steering Subcommittee Developing their component of an annual educational seminar. Participate in the Steering Subcommittee meeting.
