Why is the CIA Changing The business world faces ongoing changes and emerging risks that impact how internal auditors meet their organization’s needs. Organizations and stakeholders expect internal auditors to do more and be better at it. The knowledge and skills internal auditors need to possess to provide professional assurance and consulting services continually evolves. The CIA exam content needs to remain current and valid, and better aligned with the Standards.
3
How the CIA is Changing The Exam Development Committee (EDC) led a comprehensive review of the current three CIA exam syllabi. Global CIA Job Analysis Study conducted in March / April, 2017, in 11 languages. More than 3,000 responses were received. An external independent Psychometrician analyzed the survey results and confirmed the need to revise the current three‐part CIA exam. The new version of the CIA exam was finalized by EDC. The revised CIA exam syllabi were approved by the Professional Certifications Board (PCB) and The IIA Global Board of Directors.
