1 Year 3 Sleepover Parent Q&A
Wednesday 7th March 2018

2 Why are we doing it? As part of our topic we are learning about light. The children will be designing their own reading torches. We feel that this will be a fun and engaging way to test the torches at our sleepover. It is an exciting opportunity for the children to spend an evening away from home. Children gain valuable experience from being away from home before a longer residential in year 4 and 6. We hope it is an experience that they will cherish. We like to celebrate children's learning in many different ways and this will provide the children with an opportunity to apply their learning in a real life situation. We believe in a broad and balanced curriculum.

3 What will we be doing? At the light party the children will have the opportunity to…… Have a night time library session. Play games in the dark. Go on a light walk. Create a shadow show. At the sleepover the children will have the opportunity to…… Work in teams. Have a talent show. Sing songs and have hot chocolate around a campfire. Spend time with their friends. Play games.
