4. UE Invasive Alien Species in Poland
The work focused on procedures to implement new EU Regulation on IAS into national legal and institutional frameworks
Amendment of Nature Conservation Act – under preparation
Amendment of national list – waiting for UE list
Commitments between agriculture, customs officers and other authorities under preparation
Proposals are being developed to provide financial support for implementation of the EU Regulation
Management plans prepared for sika deer and giant hogweed
Management plans for alien knotweeds and alien sliders are in progress
New procedures for bird ringing programmes: alien bird must not be released into the wild, they must be provided to local nature conservation offices
Risk assessments developed and a submitted to EC as a proposal for the list of IAS of EU concern 4 4
