What is a Trend? a general direction in which something is developing or changing Social issues that have been documented can be analyzed based on their “trends” Example: Salaries of Athletes has been trending upwards, meaning they are increasing Example: Number of AIDS cases has been trending downward, meaning it is on the decline

Step 1 – Review Project Expectations

Step 2 – Pick a Topic Pick a subject that interests you and your partner. Step 3 – Research Your Subject
Use the Internet and library for research Need data from at least 5 separate years/time periods You need to define what the data represents, i.e. if you’re doing cancer rates, specify if it is in the US or Global. Step 4 – Apply Math to Data

Step 5 – Graph your Data Make a spreadsheet with three columns:

Now that you have made future predictions using your equation, brainstorm potential ramifications. How does a trend affect people’s choices? What will our quality of life be like in the future?
