where Invensys manages, monitors and maintains those products or solutions so that our customers benefit from our products faster and with less hassle Key point(s): Invensys is taking ownership of the classical IT effort of servicing the lifecycle of a (physical) server including: Virtual infrastructure Application infrastructure We are also highlighting the obvious benefits of the cloud which is convenience and time-to-value. In other words, it is so easy and convenient to subscribe to our products and start immediately becoming productive with them and deriving value from them (i.e., minimal friction, no installation, configuration, implementation, bureaucratic processes, licensing and maintenance, just sign and use.).

Specifically: Tiered Historian Skelta BPM.NET Key point(s):
Highlight difference between Skelta BPM.NET and ArchestrA Workflow. It is NOT AWS but rather classical Business Process Management (BPM) without the industrial connectors. For Tiered Historian, Tier-1 is ‘on-premise’ whereas Tier-2 is hosted on Microsoft’s cloud platform called ‘Azure’.

SaaS Consumer SaaS Provider Tiered Historian Skelta BPM.NET Key point(s): On the other hand, Invensys is able to deliver this SaaS functionality through its partnership with Microsoft. Citing MS as the CSP should infer credibility to our offering (backed and support by industry leader). We must also therefore disclose some technical and commercial dependency on Microsoft (SLAs and pricing influence).

Availability (e.g. 99% uptime) Performance (e.g. maximum response times) Security / privacy of the data (e.g. encrypting all stored and transmitted data) Disaster Recovery expectations (e.g. worse case recovery commitment) Location of the data (e.g. consistent with local legislation) Access to the data (e.g. data retrievable from provider in readable format) Portability of the data (e.g. ability to move data to a different provider) Process to identify problems and resolution expectations (e.g. call center) Change Management process (e.g. changes – updates or new services) Dispute mediation process (e.g. escalation process, consequences) Exit Strategy with expectations on the provider to ensure smooth transition Key point(s): We don’t cover each point here but the goal is to use this slide as a discussion slide. The message to the customer is that Invensys has feedback to give and is able to discuss intelligently each of these points. We also can refer to Microsoft’s position on some of these points.
