Selected TRPV1 agonists. Capsaicin is responsible for the piquancy of hot chili peppers. Capsiate is a nonpungent capsaicin analog. Olvanil is a synthetic capsaicin congener. RTX is an ultrapotent capsaicin analog isolated from the latex of Euphorbia resinifera Berg. Anandamide is an endocannabinoid that also acts as an endovanilloid. Oleamide (cis-9,10-octadecenoamide) is a fatty acid amide discovered in the cerebrospinal fluid of starving rats that also activates CB1 receptors.
