1 SUSE CaaS and Dell EMC

2 SUSE CaaS Platform and Dell EMC
Containers: The Foundation of Digital Transformation Speed software development Ease updating of legacy apps and application portability Boost application resilience and scalability Containers are becoming the foundation for many organizations’ digital transformation plans. They can help your organization move to a DevOps and software-defined infrastructure model by enabling you to: • Speed software development. You can reduce application delivery cycles. • Ease application updates and portability. You can migrate legacy apps to a microservice, cloud-native model in a low-risk fashion. Containerized apps can move easily from workstation to in-house data center to the cloud. • Boost application resilience and scalability. Containerized workloads can start and stop quickly, providing resilience and the ability to rapidly scale up.

3 The SUSE and Dell EMC Container Infrastructure
Rely on solid Dell EMC PowerEdge servers and network switches and SUSE CaaS Platform. Simplify management and control with Kubernetes. Scale from proof of concept to production easily. • Rely on solid Dell EMC PowerEdge servers and network switches and SUSE software-defined infrastructure in the form of SUSE CaaS Platform. • Simplify management and control of your container platform with a Cloud-Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) certified Kubernetes distribution. • Get a fast, easy and lightweight proof of concept that scales to a full production solution with simple additions to the cluster. Let’s look at that ability to scale the infrastructure in a little more detail now.

4 Virtual to physical migration
Proof of concept Start quickly with a small investment. Virtual to physical migration Replace or supplement VMs for greater capacity. Production Operate at scale. Using only virtual machines (VMs), you can quickly deploy the SUSE-Dell EMC infrastructure as a proof of concept for speedy evaluation and adoption. In fact, by following the instructions in the reference architecture, you can get a proof-of-concept container platform up and running in about an hour. Then scale it to a full production solution by replacing VMs or iteratively adding physical systems with more resources to the existing cluster. You can minimize your initial investment while building a foundation that can later grow into a production-ready system. SUSE and Dell EMC together implemented, tested and validated the deployment process for each of these modes in the Dell EMC Partner Lab.
