Exodus 9:1 – Exodus 9:6 1
2
Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh
3
and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews,
4
Let my people go, that they may serve me.
5
For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,
5
6
Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle 6
7
which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses,
7
8
upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep:
8
9
there shall be a very grievous murrain. 9
10
And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel
10
11
and the cattle of Egypt:
11
12
and there shall nothing die of all that is the childrens of Israel.
12
13
And the LORD appointed a set time, saying,
13
14
To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.
14
15
And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, 15
16
and all the cattle of Egypt died: 16
17
but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.

19
And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle
20
of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened,
21
and he did not let the people go.
22
And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, 22
23
Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, 23
24
and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven 24
25
in the sight of Pharaoh. 25
26
And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt,
27
and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man,
28
and upon beast, throughout
all the land of Egypt.
29
And they took ashes of the furnace, 29
30
and stood before Pharaoh; 30
31
and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; 31
32
breaking forth with blains
and it became a boil breaking forth with blains 32
33
upon man, and upon beast. 33
34
And the magicians could not stand before Moses
34
35
because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians,
35
36
and upon all the Egyptians.
36
37
And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, 37
38
and he hearkened not unto them; 38
39
as the LORD had spoken unto Moses. 39
40
And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early
40
41
in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, 41
42
and say unto him, 42
43
Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, 43
44
Let my people go, that they may serve me. 44
45
For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart,
45
46
and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; 46
47
that thou mayest know that there is none like me
47
48
in all the earth. 48

50
For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee
51
and thy people with pestilence;
52
and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
53
And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up,
53
54
for to shew in thee my power; 54
55
and that my name may be declared 55
56
throughout all the earth.
56
57
As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people,
58
that thou wilt not let them go?
59
Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain
59
60
a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt
60
61
since the foundation thereof even until now.
61
62
Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast
62
63
in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found
63
64
in the field, and shall not be brought home,
64
65
the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.
65
66
He that feared the word of the LORD 66
67
Pharaoh made his servants
among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants 67
68
and his cattle flee into the houses: 68
69
And he that regarded not
the word of the LORD 69
70
left his servants and his cattle in the field.
70
71
And the LORD said unto Moses, 71
72
Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, 72
73
that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, 73
74
upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field,
74
75
throughout the land of Egypt.

77
And Moses stretched forth
his rod toward heaven:
78
and the LORD sent thunder and hail,
79
and the fire ran along upon the ground;
80
hail upon the land of Egypt.
and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
81
So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail,
81
82
very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land
82
83
of Egypt since it became a nation.
83
84
And the hail smote through-out all the land of Egypt
85
all that was in the field, both man and beast;
86
and the hail smote every herb of the field,
87
and brake every tree of the field.
88
Only in the land of Goshen,
88
89
where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
89
90
called for Moses and Aaron,
And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, 90
91
I have sinned this time:
and said unto them, I have sinned this time: 91
92
the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
92
93
Intreat the LORD (for it is enough)
93
94
that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail;
94
95
and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.
95
96
And Moses said unto him, 96
97
As soon as I am gone out of the city,
97
98
I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD;
98
99
and the thunder shall cease,
99
100
neither shall there be any more hail;
100
101
that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORDS.
101
102
But as for thee and thy servants,
102
103
I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.

And the flax and the barley was smitten:
106
for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.
107
But the wheat and the rie were not smitten:
107
108
for they were not grown up.
108

of the city from Pharaoh,
And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh,
110
and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD:
111
and the thunders and hail ceased,
112
and the rain was not poured upon the earth.
113
And when Pharaoh saw 113
114
that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased,
114
115
he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart,
115
116
he and his servants. 116
117
And the heart of Pharaoh
was hardened, 117
118
neither would he let the children of Israel go;
118
119
as the LORD had spoken by Moses.
