1 Real Friends Don’t Grow on Trees
How to Be a Better Friend

2 True friends are people of moral character.
He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm (Prov. 13:20) Many will entreat the favor of a generous man, and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts. (Prov. 19:6 ) All the brothers of a poor man hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues them with words, but they are gone. (Prov. 19:7)

3 True friends are always kind to their friends.
He who blesses his friend with a loud voice early in the morning, it will be reckoned a curse to him. (Prov. 27:14)

4 True friends are there when you need them.
A man of many friends comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Prov. 18:24) Many a man proclaims his own loyalty, but who can find a trustworthy man? (Prov. 20:6)

5 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. (Prov. 17:17)
Do not forsake your own friend or your father’s friend, And do not go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity; Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother far away. (Prov. 27:10)

6 A true friend tells us what we need to hear rather than what we want to hear.
Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. (Prov. 27:17) Oil and perfume make the heart glad, so a man’s counsel is sweet to his friend. (Prov. 27:9)

7 Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy. (Prov. 27:6)
