Mason Impact Proposal Tutorial

Step 1: The Narrative Please answer the following 6 questions:
1- What is the rationale for designating this course or co-curricular program as a Mason Impact Experience? 2- How does this Impact Experience fit with your chosen focus area (Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities, Entrepreneurship, or Civic Engagement)? 3- How does this experience fit into the educational career of the normal student? 4- Explain how this experience meets the given criteria for an Impact Experience? 5- Explain how student work will meet the Impact Project criteria, including the types of student projects? 6- How does student learning progress in this experience for the students to create their Impact Project? *MUST be submitted in a PDF file format and be no more than 1,000 words!*

Click on the hyperlink for “Student Learning Outcome Map & Curriculum Scaffold Map” on the UGE website ( specific-submission-requirements-for-faculty/) (An excel file should open)

Once the Excel file is open, you will first fill out the Course Map. In the bracketed section, you will copy and paste the “Mason Impact Student Learning Outcomes” (see next slide for an example) in that column. Must have a minimum of three, but more can be included.

Step 8: Scaffold Map This map is intended. So show us how students learning is scaffolded and directed to reach the goals of this impact course. In the “Explore” section, provide courses of Co-Curricular activities that lead to this impact course. These courses should meet the student learning objectives for the explore level.
