Figure 2 | Gut microbial gene content and development of T1DM. Children who progressed to clinical T1DM (n = 4) had a significantly reduced gut microbial gene content compared with healthy control individuals (n = 22) and children who seroconverted but did not develop T1DM (n = 7). The horizontal line represents the median, the boxes the second and third quartiles, the whiskers the 95% confidence interval and the small black dots the individual data points.
