Normative Ethics Duty Theories:
In 17th century German philosopher Samuel Pufendorf, classified dozens of duties under three headings: 1. duties to God, 2. duties to oneself, and 3. duties to others. - Duties towards God, : *a theoretical duty to know the existence and nature of God, and *a practical duty to both inwardly and outwardly worship God. Duties towards oneself:

Duty Theories A third duty-based theory is that by Kant, which emphasizes a single principle of duty.
