2 Today we will be learning to:
collect, record and interpret information present the data as a graph discuss the results.

3 What is data collection?
Mental Activity What is data collection? Today we will find out what types of clothing boys and girls like to wear.

4 What sort of things will we be looking at?
Work in pairs. What sort of things will we be looking at? How should we separate out the type of clothes colour of clothing and style of clothing.

5 Main Activity Over the next three lessons we are going to find out
and record information about what you prefer.

6 They need to know what clothes you like to wear.
Pretend the Headteacher is thinking of introducing or changing the school uniform. They need to know what clothes you like to wear.

7 What types of clothing are there?
What can you say about colour pattern type boys and girls clothes?

8 You are now going to make a ‘person block bar chart’.
Choose a question to answer. Decide which choice you like. Join that line of children. When all are seated you have made a chart.

9 Repeat for different questions.
What was the most popular choice overall?

10 Which was the most popular option? Which was the least popular option?

11 How many people liked shorts more than trousers?
How many people liked to wear joggers or trousers?

12 How many were asked altogether?
Was there an option that no one wanted? Should it have been shown?
