I Resign… Past failures Common to all
Consider Moses (Acts 7:25ff; re: Ex. 2:11-15) Consider Samson (Jdg. 16) Consider Peter (Matt. 26:33; 26:69-75)

I Resign… Excuses It is so easy to make an excuse.
Sometimes a rationale for laziness (Prov. 26:13) An excuse is the skin of a reason stuffed with a lie George Washington Carver once said, “Ninety-nine percent of all failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses”

I Resign… Apathy This is when there is no concern where there ought to be Apathy has no passion, no motivation, and produces no accomplishments Gallio was apathetic (Acts 18:12-17)

I Resolve… To be spiritually successful
Moses, Samson, and Peter were all failures, but became successful What about me? My failure must be put behind me I must submit to God to be spiritually successful (James 4:7-10) Need a good application of longsuffering and perseverance (Gal. 5:22; 2 Peter 1:6)

I Resolve… To do what needs to be done. Replace excuse with effort.
Must make an effort (2 Peter 1:10) We have good motivation (1 Tim. 4:10) Remember it is work for the Lord (Col. 3:23)

I Resolve… To grow spiritually By being strong (1 Cor. 16:13)
In order to be prepared (2 Peter 3:17-18) By always being obedient to the Lord (Phil. 2:12)
