Hi! My name is Ashley Chennault. I started at Pecan Park in August of 2005 working in the Kindergarten Department. This is my 10th year teaching fourth grade. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2001, and my Master’s Degree in elementary education at William Carey University. I have lived in Ocean Springs my whole life, and am a twelve year student of the Ocean Springs School District. I have received many awards including the district’s Examples of Excellence award twice. I am a nine-year OSEF Grant winner, I have received many Donors Choose grants, and am a third year Model Technology Classroom teacher. I am piloting the first elementary-level aquaculture program in the state of Mississippi, and received a 2017 Leo Seal Innovative Teaching Award as a result of this program. I am an OSUE Dance Club and Drama Club sponsor. I have a 10 year old son named Eli (5th grade) and a 8 year old son named Carson (3rd grade). In my spare time I enjoy boating, cooking, gardening, shopping, and cuddling my three weiner dogs, Georgie, Tripp, and Henry. It is going to be an awesome year!
