1 Oral Presentations/Policy
During the last three years, the percentage of students at L.-J.-R. who obtained a medical note allowing them to do their oral presentations in front of their teacher has risen from 7% to 23%. However, studies show that in order to diminish and learn how to manage stress, it is important to experience situations that are out of our comfort zone. Situations such as oral presentations in front of groups help us face our fears and overcome challenging tasks and situations.

2 Oral Presentations/Policy
This is why our school has put forth a new program. This program will help our grade 11 English students, who have a medical note for oral presentations, develop the skills required to successfully tackle the challenges that come with presenting in front of a group. A mandatory multiple session support program/plan (minimum 10 sessions) has been created for these students to help them overcome their stress and achieve the goal of presenting their OP in front of the class. The student with a medical note who refuses to follow this program will have to present in front of the class.

3 Oral Presentations/Policy
All students who currently have a medical note or who plan on obtaining a medical note for their grade 11 English class this semester must notify their English teacher within one week from today. (By February 8th). These students will be referred to the designated resource teacher and will start the program. There will be no exceptions – this means that you cannot tell me AFTER FEBRUARY 8TH that you want to present just in front of me.
