“The” Standards Series for Batch…yes, but… also heavily used in secondary processing for batch industries…and being used as well in packaging, continuous operations, discrete assembly, and the like.

ISA 88 Part 4 Changes in Direction
After several changes in direction, ISA 88 Part 4 is complete Passed ballot in February 2006 Final version issued in March 2006 Significant end user involvement and interest WBF BatchML to be extended in 2007

ISA 88 Part 5 At the Starting Line
The WBF Make2Pack effort has become the new baseline for ISA 88 Part 5 We are looking for volunteers to participate Work on the initial working draft to start shortly

ISA 88 Part 1 & 2 Update Head Into the Pit
We would like to update the Part 1 & 2 based on the past ten year’s experience and align with the ISA 95 Part 3 definitions

Industry and Vendor Use
WBF has been instrumental in promoting ISA-88 – and even recently its name to reflect the interest outside of traditional batch WBF developed BatchML based on ISA-88 Part 2 XML Schemas for recipes, equipment definitions, and batch schedules

Enhance terminology and definitions, document applications. Working Group Chair: Paul Nowicki Part 5 – Modular Concepts for Automated Control Systems: Define standard interfaces between recipe execution systems and control systems A WBF working group, Make2Pack, is developing a working implementation Working Group Chair: David Chappell
