God is light God is light – 1 John 1:5 He is light in its purest form – no darkness His presences is described with terms like glorious, brightness, radiance, shining and fire. When He appears to man there is a brilliance

God is light God controls light – Matthew 27:45 – darkness for 3 hours Revelation 21:23-24, 22:5 – God will be the light in heaven

God is light Why this is important: When we understand God and light, we have a pattern to follow and imitate. In Him we see purity, holiness, love and even truth. 1 Peter 1:15-16, Matthew 5:48, John 17:17, etc.

John 1:4-9, introduced as the light Hebrews 1:3, He is the brightness of the image of His glory. Cf. He manifested the light of God -John 14:9-10 John 1:14 – we beheld His glory

Why is this important? Jesus is our hope, and the source of our understanding light better He is the example we are to imitate – 1 Corinthians 11:1, Philippians 1:5, 1 Peter 2:21-23, etc. He is the light we are shining to this world
