Half day ‘core’ training for PVI EY setting managers:
focusing on what SLCN might look like, how to identify children and what support can be provided in the setting, as well as access to outside support.
One day ‘second level / In depth’ training for setting managers and others
Identification and intervention approaches for SLCN
Exploring models of good practice
Developing action plans for work to be carried out in settings.

5. Access to resources and advice
Strengthened support from I CAN’s Enquiry Service and additional information on Talking Point:
Signposted to information through training e.g. Progress Checker
Direct support available to individual managers, SENCo, practitioners and parents
Links to SEND Gateway.

6. Strategic development
Strategic support to 5 local authorities for SLCN in settings:
Identifying strengths / needs in the process / delivery of identification / support of SLCN
Enabling solutions to ensure that these gaps are filled.

7. Close partnership working

With CDC – regional and local action learning sets
