3 Preparing for an Interview Do some advance research. Check the companys website or visit their location to learn about their culture and their dress code. If you can, speak to someone within the company to see how the organization functions. Learn about the company profile and history How long have they been in business? What is their corporate mission statement? Culture and Values? Prepare a list of questions about the company, the position you are applying for and the work group you will be involved with upon hiring. Can you tell me about opportunities for growth and development? How would you describe the leadership style within the company? How much teamwork vs. individual work should I expect?

4 First Impressions You never get a second chance to make a first impression Appropriate attire shows you are serious about the interview process and understand the nature of your selected industry. Dress relative to the companys business profile. In some industries your attire will be judged more critically, especially where customer contact and image presented to the customer matters. You want your attire to be noticed as being appropriate and well- fitting, but you want the interviewers main attention focused on you. It is better to be overdressed for an interview.
