2 Identity- the characteristics determining who or what a person is.
e.g. The things I like doing form a part of my identity Diversity- showing a great deal of variety; different e.g. When our class was asked what was important to them, there was a range of diverse answers.

3 Remember to give everyone a chance to share their story.
In small groups, share stories about any special objects or photographs you have brought in as homework. You can ask each other questions to find out more. Remember to give everyone a chance to share their story. ?

Remember a person’s identity is more than what is seen on the outside. People are made up of stories and their interactions with people they meet

Spend 2 minutes reflecting on these lines. You can write or draw anything you think of in this time; you might also want to include the objects or scenes in photographs you have brought in.

- A time when you felt proud or achieved something - A story that reminds you of a special time Take turns so that everyone has the chance to share ideas Listen to and respect what everyone in the group has to say

11 All of the stories that you have shared today, make up your identity or have had an impact on your identity. We are now going to become authors and write our stories down!

12 L.O. To write a story about me
Think about one of the stories that you have shared today and decide which one you would like to write about. Spend some time planning your story (you could either talk to your partner about your ideas or jot some of these down). Once you begin writing your story, keep going back to reread what you have written and check: - Does your story make sense? - Have you used the correct punctuation? - Have you missed any detail out? 4. After you have finished, swap your story with someone else. CHALLENGE* How many different stories can you read?

15 Find out a story about someone who is special to you
Find out a story about someone who is special to you. It could be about a journey they have taken, their childhood, a time they felt proud etc. You can also bring in objects or photographs to help you share this story next lesson. Remember you only share what you feel comfortable sharing.
