2. Introduction
In the field of internet Co-operation with the Member States four potential quick-win actions were decided. These quick-wins are targeted at enhancing the coherency, accessibility and user-friendliness of the ESS websites/statistics as a whole. They comprise:
Presentation of ESS news on Eurostat and NSI Sites
Sharing of statistical data
Common keyword system
Common calendar for Press Releases

3. 7 Principles for the cooperation
easy and fast wins,
very limited resources required for their implementation.
very limited overhead in terms of administration.
The organisation of the cooperation should be designed to avoid resource consuming coordination and alignment procedures.

4. Principles for the cooperation
All topics should be designed to allow for a voluntary participation of the NSIs.
The implementation should be done in a way that each NSI can apply its own schedule for the physical implementation.

5. State of play
Late delivery of the new IT Architecture and other technical releases
Preparation of the different contracts for IT services took more time as scheduled
Visits and discussions with first participating countries ( The Netherlands , Sweden …)
However, progress was made with a focus on delivering the Eurostat RSS feeds

6. Presentation of ESS news on Eurostat Internet Site and NSI Sites
Centralised consultation of various ESS news releases becomes readily available for users in an easy way (RSS technique)
Eurostat focused on delivery of two RSS feeds  Press Releases and Statistics in Focus (SIF)

7. Sharing of statistical data
-List of the 200 predefined tables established but it will probably be extended to ALL predefined tables.
-In addition, pre-packaged zip files will include tables with the corresponding metadata
-Cooperation with SODI project is needed
-Conversion of the xml of the 1145 predefined tables in SDMX-ML scheduled to start in January 2006
-Work is being subcontracted by using an Eurostat IT service contract.

8. Common keyword system
To allow ESS widespread common search by users a small set ( ) of common and shared keywords
-Set of keywords is used by our website for « search » and « find » functionalities
-A pilot will be launched involving three NSIs (The Netherlands, Sweden and Czech republic)
- Work is being subcontracted by using an Eurostat IT service contract

9. Common calendar for Press Releases
It makes easy for users to anticipate on both national and Eurostat press releases in a single, common way
-Template taking into account the IMF approach
