Figure 1 Arabidopsis Cryptochrome Signaling Pathway.
Under unshaded blue light, CRYs interact with COP1 and SPAs to inhibit COP1 activity. As a result, HY5 and CO are able to accumulate and promote photomorphogenesis and flowering through regulation of their target genes, respectively. In addition, CRY2 interacts directly with the transcriptional factor, CIB1, to promote floral initiation. Under high temperature, photoactivated CRY1 interacts with PIF4 to repress its transcriptional activity and inhibit hypocotyl elongation. Under canopy shade low blue light (LBL), however, CRY1/2 interact with PIF4/5 to enhance their transcriptional activities, leading to enhanced hypocotyl elongation. Arrows and T bars denote positive and negative regulation, respectively. Molecular Plant 2016 9, DOI: ( /j.molp ) Copyright © 2016 The Author Terms and Conditions
