7 Basic Functions I placed the electric chargers in front of the building because people who are charging their car are most likely going to go inside the building. The charging station is also positioned in the middle of each parking spot. This is because different cars may plug into the charger differently. The hose is also long enough to reach the sides of the car.

8 Basic Functions Since people have to spend approximately half an hour waiting for their car to charge, I wanted the building to have a comfortable atmosphere. In the section that connects the left and right wings together, there will be a comfortable seating area with televisions suspended from the ceilings. This will be helpful for people who are driving for long periods of time and want to stop to relax.

9 Basic Functions On the left side of the building, there will be an eating area. I put it on the left side so that people can see the greenery outside while they are eating. The right wing is set up like a convenience store for people who are filling up for gas and need to pick something up quickly.

10 Basic Functions Since the design also has to be environmentally friendly, I designed a green space outside with picnic tables and trees. On nice days people can go sit outside while they wait for their car to charge. Also for families on trips, it gives them a space to get outside of their car and their children can enjoy the green space. I also put up a fence to keep children safe from cars driving by.

11 Basic Functions For car travel directions, there is an entrance and two exits on the left side of the lot. When people drive in, they can turn left and park their car to go into the building. On this side there is also an exit so that when they pull out of their parking spot it is easier for them to leave. Or they can go straight if they have an electric car and park it in the spots with the electric chargers. They must also go straight in order to get to the traditional fueling station, and then make a right when they get to the end. The travel direction for the traditional fueling station flows in a circle to keep cars moving. To fill up their car they drive to the back entrance, fill up their car, and then exit through the front entrance. There are two islands to separate the cars going straight and the cars filling up for gas (one at each end of the traditional fueling station).

12 Basic Functions Additionally, the energy source for the fueling station is solar. They are placed on the roof of the building so they are not as visible. Solar panels are extremely environmentally friendly because they release little greenhouse gases into the environment when compared to other energy sources. Therefore, the solar panels make the gas station more environmentally friendly.

13 References and Inspiration
To help me get ideas, I researched what some characteristics of futurist architecture are. One of them was movement, which includes, curved lines, and angles. I used arcs and lines to draw the building.

Another characteristic is nature. By making the walls of the building glass, it allows people to sit inside and enjoy the green space near the building. Glass walls also allows natural light into the building.

15 References and Inspiration
The inspiration for the interior of the building came from onroutes. Since people have to wait half and hour for their car to charge, the left side of the building will have fast food restaurants so that they could get something to eat in the meantime.

The right side of the building will be set up like a convenience store for people who are just filling up their car and might need to get a drink or snack.

Next, I had to create an electric charging station. My inspiration came from Tela’s charger. To design the electric charger, I used curved lines as well so that it has a futuristic shape to it. I also included a screen which tells how much longer until the car is fully charged.

For the traditional gas pump, I did not want to use the same ones that we see at gas stations today. Since, it is supposed to be a futuristic fueling station, I thought using the traditional shape would not match the futuristic design. So instead, I used the shape of the electric chargers and I placed the individual parts of a traditional gas pump onto it. I also gave the hood over the traditional fueling station a more futuristic design by curving it instead of just giving it a rectangular shape.
