If the chickens are free range, then the farmers won’t have to spend money on feed, the chickens will find their own food.
The chicken are much less likely to become over weight, with lots of space to room.
There will be less insects in the range because the chickens would eat them.

- Chickens will scratch your creps, and newly planted vegetables ruining them
Chickens will make holes in the ground by scratching and will dust it causing grass to not be cable to grow in that area
Chickens will spread their feces around unwanted places, making your farm unsanitary
Chickens are at risk from predators, such as dogs, foxes, raccoons, birds of prey etc.
