Additional Student Resources
10th and 11th grade Chemistry Miss Tower Additional Student Resources Daily Work / Labs / CFAs (quizzes) These items will be posted on the board and on Infinite Campus every week. All students should complete daily work, labs, and CFAs to be better prepared and more successful on unit exams, lab assessments, and final projects. Miss Tower will utilize the data gained from these pieces of formative assessment to re-teach skills that have not been mastered, as well as provide extended learning to those students that are already being successful with their Essential Learning Targets (ELTs). Google Drive – Remind Application Students will have access to my Google Drive throughout the school year. This site will contain homework assignments, quiz and homework keys, as well as additional practice problems. This will be shared with the students during the first week of school. Remind is a program that allows students to sign up for text messages or s to remind them about upcoming tests, project due dates, and important information regarding chemistry. We will sign up for Remind during class. Google Classroom Unit Exams Students will have access and be expected to participate in my Google Classroom website. This site will contain lesson plans, homework assignments, as well as serve as an effective way to turn in assignments. This will also be shared with the students during the first week of school. Every unit will finish with a unit exam that contains mainly short answer questions. If students receive an unsatisfactory grade on a test, they have one opportunity per semester to complete a test autopsy. Test Autopsy – Allows students to correct their test and learn from their mistakes, while receiving up to 10% of the total points back from their original test. If a student is still not satisfied with their score after the autopsy, they can choose to then retake an essay version of the test. The second score will be recorded. Set your goals high this year and work hard to achieve them. You all have the ability to do great things! Lab Assessments Lab assessments will be given after every major lab assignment. Lab assessments are used to test individual student’s knowledge about the skills learned while completing the lab.
