Stomach ! Alcohol irritates stomach, causing the stomach to release acids and juices - Symptoms; gas upset stomach gas - burping, flatulence - vomiting - diarrhea - Long term use can result in ulcers ! Alcohol molecule is very small and it can actually slip through the lining of the stomach. This means some of the alcohol can enter the bloodstream without being digested.
6
Blood Vessels - Alcohol causes the blood vessels to dilate (widen)
- This brings more blood to the surface of the skin - Red cheeks & nose, warm to touch - False warmth, the heat you feel is heat actually leaving the body
7
Brain - processing, judgment, reaction time
- Alcohol is a depressant, it slows the action of the central nervous system - processing, judgment, reaction time

Kidneys What are symptoms of a hangover?

Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC)
"The amount of alcohol in a persons blood expressed by a percentage." Translation - The percentage of your blood that is made up of alcohol - amount (quantity) - rate of intake - type of drink - food (content of stomach) - body size (height/weight) - gender - medicine - metabolism Factors that effect BAC:

Body Size - 1. The impact of alcohol is greater on a smaller person vs. a larger person. 2. ? Gender - 1. The impact of alcohol is greater in women than
