Grades Home Learning is graded using an effort grade only
Each subject will internally assess your child at least six times over the course of a year – they will be given an 1-9 Attainment Grade You can check the exercise books/folders for teacher grades and feedback

Home Learning – report grades
Graded on a four point scale Very Good (VG), Good (G), Fair (F) or Inadequate (I) VG Very Good Home Learning deadlines always met. Very good effort put into work G Good Home Learning regularly completed, good effort put into work F Fair Occasionally missing Home Learning, basic effort put into work I Inadequate Home Learning rarely attempted or poorly done, lack of care

Targets for Maths and English based upon Scaled scores Targets for all other subjects based upon an average of the scaled scores for Maths and English Targets generated by FFT 5 – very aspirational Only end of Year 7 target to be shared with students not GCSE target. For Year 7 on the new 1-9 scale 3E (Emerging level 3) 3S:(Secure level 3) A: (Advanced level 3)

What can I do as a parent to support my child’s learning?
Take an interest in school! Try to (!) speak with them about their day Look at their books and discuss their work and the teachers’ comments with them Try to provide a suitable place to study; revision books; internet access; tutors; time to complete their work Help manage their stress Network with other parents

What can I do as a parent to support my child’s learning?
Ensure they are properly equipped for school, on time and attending fully Contact the school early if there are any concerns you have about their progress Let the school know of any domestic information that we need to know about
