Grading Policy Daily Work, Quizzes and Homework grades will all be counted once in the gradebook. Tests and major projects will count twice in the gradebook.

Late Work 1 Day Late=30 pt. deduction 2 Days Late=50 pt. deduction
If Work MUST be turned in late, penalties are as follows: 1 Day Late=30 pt. deduction 2 Days Late=50 pt. deduction 3 Days Late or more=50 pt. deduction in grade & lunch detention until assignment is received

Fashion Design Fashion Design I is a course designed to help students explore careers in the fashion, fashion merchandizing, and textile industries. Projects are designed to give an understanding of fashion history, fashion illustration, fashion design, construction of garments and accessories, and fashion forecasting. This is an EXTREMELY project driven class. Class participation and good management of class time will be IMPERATIVE.

Projects for Fashion Design I Include:

1.Construction of a bag

2. A power point presentation on a decade in fashion history

3. Construction of a dress/ button up shirt

4. Design of a clothing line, complete with company name, logo, full color illustrations, and fabric samples

5. Design of a costume for an assigned character ,to director’s specifications. (Illustrated, with fabric samples and cost/time estimate)

Interior Design Interior Design is a course designed to give students a practical glimpse into interior design related careers and the skills needed to participate in those careers. This is an EXTREMELY project driven class. Class participation and good management of class time will be IMPERATIVE.

Projects for this course will include:

1. A power point presentation on a period in Architectural History

2. A power point presentation on a famous furniture designer (these will be chosen from a list created by the instructor)

3. Sample /presentation board for an assigned client and space.

4. A manual perspective/ elevation of an original room design.

Instructional Practices in Education

This class is an innovative course designed for students who have an interest in the teaching field and would like to explore that interest further by serving as a teacher’s aide during the school year. Students be learning basic teaching methods and strategies in class, and observing them first hand as they work with their supervising teacher.
