1. Narrows Bridge - Perth Concrete Repair Works
As part of the Narrows Bridge duplication project, a thorough upgrade of the existing bridge was required.
Savcor Finn was engaged by Leighton Contractors to conduct a refurbishment programme that incorporated repairs to the bridge substructure, the abutments on both sides of the river, the pile caps and the pier columns.
This involved concrete repair work to the pile caps and columns and chemical injection into the cracks on the abutments and columns.
Repairs were also performed to the steel halving joints inside the bridge wall.
A variety of techniques were employed to complete the works. Silane coatings were applied to the river support columns, and two different protective systems were used for the pile caps -- one for the shore based caps and one for the river based caps.
