Teaching Ideas Teach the target vocabulary first. Before using with your student, preview the book, especially the animations to best support communication opportunities. Prompt to use the targets only when necessary. The adult should maintain control of the mouse to produce the action. Use a 5- second time delay after transitioning to a slide to allow the student time to initiate with the core verb put, before clicking the mouse.
