4 Expectations All require originality
B.Sc. Project research writing have slightly different expectations: All require originality in addition, requires significance But remember “Ideas do not have to be correct in order to be good; it’s only necessary that, if they do fail, they do so in an interesting way”- Robert Rosen.

5 Regulations – BSc. Projects
Research Project Presented for a B.SC. Degree shall: Be work of an advanced or original nature in the area of study Satisfy the Board of Examiners as regards content and presentation Fulfil the requirements as provided by relevant bye-laws and guidelines as regards format and length. Students should accept constructive criticisms from the supervisor No dissertation shall be accepted which is identical in substance to a document already submitted for a degree in this or any other university.

It is your responsibility to keep in touch with your supervisor You should make arrangements to meet as often as you and your supervisor require, at a time agreed between you Don’t wait for next meeting if you have a problem! Your supervisor will normally try to contact you if you haven’t been in touch for a while

What to do if you don’t get on with your supervisor: Make enquiries about your supervisor Talk to Head of Department Talk to your Programme Coordinator Talk to Faculty Members Talk to Class Captain

8 You and your research We hope that you’ll have an event-free research experience But do expect the unexpected - things can and usually do happen to throw your research off the rails for a while Sometimes, this may take a long time to resolve It’s important we know early!

You should try and have access to online materials/libraries, particularly the use of well research journal article papers to help in the literature review section and other vital guides.
