Expecting the Unexpected
While most of us have difficulty just expecting the expected, very few are prepared to deal with the unexpected in faith. God alone knows the future. He often uses unexpected events to work His will, to test faith, or to strengthen faith. As we pray prayers of faith, we would do well to expect God to answer them in unexpected ways.

God may use unexpected events…
To test you (Psalm 11:4; Job 7:17-18)
To bless you through His providence (Proverbs 16:9; Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28)
Expect unexpected answers to prayer to increase your faith (James 1:5; Luke 7:47; Psalm 34:18; James 4:6; John 16:24; Philippians 3:8)

8. The Unexpected in Your Life
If we ask God to “increase our faith” (Luke 17:5), what should we expect to receive?
To repeatedly be put into situations in which our human perceptions are not trustworthy so that we are forced to trust Christ’s promises.
“I didn’t see that coming!”
“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
