Procedures Attendance Policy Dress Code (On District Website) Planners
Your child’s attendance is essential for success. Tardiness and early withdraw also greatly effects student performance. Students should return with a notice of absence when out, and a doctor’s note after three consecutive absences. Student is responsible for completing any make up work. Attendance Incentives: monthly prizes, certificates Dress Code (On District Website) Planners Communication/organizational tool. Parents should initial daily, along with homework, as documentation of communication. Homework Star Incentive: students earn star points for daily homework practice. Please circle activity/activities students practice and sign weekly. AR (Accelerated Reader) 3rd Grade Goals: Are based on an individual basis with an 85% average. Students will be required to read a variety of genres to meet AR goals. Look for AR information going home soon. Please sign up to track your student’s goals!

Grades Stay connected with Parent Connect! Grading Policy:
Daily Grades 80% Major Grades/Tests: 20% Student averages that are 74 and below, will receive a WEEKLY progress report for parents to sign and return. If a student earns a grade of 70 or below, please sign and return so that we know that you see what areas your student may be having difficulty. Tuesday Folders/Graded Work: Please clean out, review, sign if needed, and return folders the following school day. Stay connected with Parent Connect! Benchmarks: Practice STAAR tests scheduled in January and March. Spring Tutorials: Students who are failing, having difficulties, or not performing as expected on benchmarks will be referred for after school tutoring sessions beginning in the Spring.

Based on your student’s needs/assessments, students will participate in small math and/or reading groups, computer lab, and acceleration/GT time. GT students: 45 minute weekly lessons/goals Wednesdays 8:20-9:05 TSPS project :

Volunteers, Parties, & PTO
For the safety and benefit of our students, volunteers have been limited to room parents and designated chaperones only. All volunteers MUST have completed a criminal background check on the district website each school year. Room Parents/Parties (December/June) (2-3) Room parents are the only parents to attend Winter/End of year parties, but you may send treats for the class. ***Room Parents/Chaperones will be confirmed/contacted soon! Field Trip Chaperone (1 per class) (December) Career Day: (May) Presenters Wanted! Birthdays: Store bought cookies/cupcakes only please send to office to enjoy at the end of the day. PTO: If you would like to participate in other school functions or volunteer on campus, join the PTO! $6 per family Please stop by the PTO table and sign up tonight!
