in the hope of the glory of God?

5. We Exult In Our Tribulations
Romans 5:3
Persecutions strengthen faith
(Matt. 5:11-12; 2 Cor. 12:9-10; 2 Thess. 1:4-5)
Tribulation brings perseverance (5:3)
Perseverance brings proven character (5:4)
Proven character brings hope (5:4)
Hope does not disappoint (Rom. 4:19-20)

“ungodly” (5:6)
“sinners” (5:8)
“enemies” (5:10)
Why would someone die for these?
God demonstrates His love (5:8)
His love is “poured out” in our hearts! (5:5)

We have all been God’s enemy
We can all be reconciled (5:10)
Jesus can deliver us from God’s eternal wrath.
We exult in God through Jesus – we exult NOW!
