Revising policy 3.6.C – clarifying how waiting time is transferred in common situations Current policy does not provide operational details Spring 2015 Public Comment The Committee is reviewing and revising current policy around transfer of primary waiting time. There are common situations that aren’t addressed in the current policy. For example, the current policy language does not address how primary waiting time is transferred when a patient chooses to not have multiple registrations but there is a gap of time in between the patient being removed at the earlier hospital and then registered at a new hospital. The Committee is drafting language to make it clear how transfer of primary waiting time is handled in this and other cases in order to provide clarity to transplant programs and patients.
