Bacteria can be Found Everywhere

Objectives: to take bacterial swabs from places around Ironwood Ridge.
to inoculate (swab) Petri dish with bacterial culture and monitor growth to count bacterial colonies to find out where bacteria are the most numerous to determine what kind of environmental conditions influence bacterial growth

Materials: 1 Petri dish with agar per group (of 4) cotton Q-tips
Masking Tape (parafilm) Grease pencil (sharpie) Incubator

Procedure: 1. Write your groups’ initials and period along the outside edge of the Petri dish (DO NOT OPEN IT YET!) 2. I’ll divide the divide the dish into 4 equal parts with a sharpie & number 1-4. Do not label the lids of dishes because they can easily fall off and be mixed up.
