The original two assignments, Observation #3 and Observation #4 were combined to create one assignment. Student Learning Outcome Observe young children and relate the development to child behaviors. Objectives Strengthen observation skills Expand student’s understanding of peer interactions and the association with child guidance Expand student’s understanding of classroom transitions and the association with child guidance Observation #3 Observation #4 “As a result of this activity I was able to see real life examples of what we learned about in [Child] guidance… Documenting the observations allowed me to think through what I was observing and connect it to the material. Overall, this activity really allowed me to take what I had learned in class and practice applying my knowledge.” - Student Fall 2018 “This particular assignment was beneficial to my learning and own development because it allowed me the opportunity to see what exactly I was reading about happening in front of me.” “When doing these observations t was exciting to see that I have learned to the extent where I could define the reasoning something was going on or a alternative that may work better in that situation.” Observation #4
